Semester: 5
My name is Marc Morgenroth. I am studying Climate Neutral Energy Systems at the Weihenstephan - Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences in the 5th semester. I am now at the end of my practical semester at IBC SOLAR in the EPC department and can look back on a very instructive 24 weeks.
After a period of familiarisation with the Civil 3D, Helios 3D and Plexearth programmes by my very helpful colleagues in the Design team, one of my main tasks was to create the preliminary designs in close cooperation with the project developers. I was able to deepen the knowledge I gained about the planning of ground-mounted systems by providing support in the factory planning of the Emmersheim and Gossenberg projects.
In addition to the planning activities, I really enjoyed supporting the project managers and electricians on the construction sites. It was easier for me to familiarise myself with the interrelationships of photovoltaic technology on site and I was able to carry out the acceptance tests of the installed systems in close cooperation with the project managers.
I particularly remember the technical commissioning during a snowstorm in Klosterlangheim. True to the motto, ‘There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing!’, we activated the inverters and stations.
All in all, it was a very varied and valuable internship in which I was able to gain a very detailed insight into the planning and realisation of ground-mounted systems in a very committed team.
Sunny greetings
Marc Morgenroth
