Semester: 6
My name is Philipp Günther and I am studying Renewable Energies & Energy Technology at Coburg University of Applied Sciences. Since I started on 16.05.22, I have been able to gain valuable experience during my 21-week internship at IBC SOLAR in the field of realising ground-mounted PV systems.
I was involved in a wide variety of work steps during the planning phase, mainly working with AutoCAD, which I quickly learnt through a few exercises. This learning progress went so far that in the end I was even able to create projects myself in combination with AutoCAD Civil, Plex Earth and Helios 3D. With the area allocations developed in this way, PVSyst could then be used to calculate yields and profitability for customers.
I was also able to support the project managers in the realisation of PV systems on the construction sites, where I also gained practical knowledge. My tasks included reporting construction defects, printing plans and much more.
I was also given the opportunity to work on tasks within the grid connection team, where I was able to help record the protection tests and assist in solving a fuse problem.
In conclusion, I would like to thank you for a wonderful and instructive time at IBC SOLAR, especially the nice colleagues. The opportunity at IBC SOLAR gave me a deep insight into the entire planning and realisation of ground-mounted PV systems.
Many thanks for the unforgettable insights!
Sunny greetings
Philipp Günther
