Division: Supply Chain Management / Product Group Solar Modules
Year: 2022 / 2023
Field of Study: Business administration
University: Coburg University of Applied Sciences and Arts
Semester: 5
My name is Timm Escher and I am studying Business Administration at Coburg University of Applied Sciences. Over the past 21 weeks, I have been working at IBC SOLAR in the Supply Chain Management department as part of my internship semester.
In the first few weeks as an intern, I got to know all the team members and my areas of responsibility in the Solar Modules Product Group. As an intern, I was given a lot of trust and the opportunity to familiarise myself with the tasks independently. If necessary, all team members were available to answer my questions. IBC SOLAR offers the opportunity to get to know the company and other departments better through various rounds of introductions.
In my area of responsibility, I was involved in data analysis and visualisation, which I carried out using the Navision program and Office 365. I determined various key figures that are used to assess past, present and future values. These included, for example, delivery reliability, order planning and sales planning.
I really liked the fact that I was taken seriously as an intern and that my suggestions and contributions were actually utilised. It was interesting to see that the company has its own test laboratory, SUNLAB, where the solar modules and other components for the photovoltaic systems are tested.
To summarise, I would like to thank IBC SOLAR and the Supply Chain Management department once again for giving me the opportunity to do my practical semester. It was a very enjoyable and instructive time that enriched and prepared me for my future career.
Thank you very much for the wonderful time and all the best!
Sunny greetings
Timm Escher
